Relics of War Author's Biography

Dee R. Eberhart was born in Los Angeles, California in 1924. After graduating from Toppenish, Washington High School in 1943, he was inducted into the Army, received infantry training at Camp Roberts, California, served in the Army Specialized Training Program at UCLA, Air Corps Cadet processing at Buckley Field, Colorado, and with the 42nd Rainbow Division at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma and in France and Germany as a first scout in a rifle company from the Ardennes-Alsace Campaign to the end of the War. Immediately after V.E. Day, his division moved to Austria for occupation duty, where he had various assignments in the Tirol, Land Salzburg, and Vienna, until his return to the United States in March 1946 with the 83rd Division. He is active in the Rainbow Division Veterans Association and Memorial Foundation, along with his wife, Barbara.
